Welcome to the site of the Kelowna Yacht Club
KYC is located in Kelowna, British Columbia, in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, a region renown for its orchards, vineyards and spectacular scenery. We are situated near the mid point of Okanagan Lake, which is more than 100 miles long and has in excess of 200 miles of shoreline.
Chartered in 1945, we are embarking on our 60 th year. Our membership is over 2000 and includes regular, honorary, life, junior, intermediate members and their respective spouses. The 592 slips accommodate power and sail boats worth well over twenty-five million dollars.
We are extremely proud of our education program. For those wanting to learn to sail, the club offers training for adults and a full junior program for members and non-members alike; we have educated thousands of students on safe boating practices in their school classrooms.
The club provides lively competition for sailors with organized racing every Wednesday or Sunday, depending on the time of year and hosts a minimum of two annual regattas. Our Staff Captain keeps the cruising contingent active with invasions to other yacht clubs, dock parties and bus trips to boat shows in Canada and the U.S.A. The Kelowna Yacht Club is a social and family club. Our members of all ages enjoy many social activities such as our annual Boats & Leisure Show, Commodore’s Ball and Sail Past, a New Years Eve Dinner and Dance, Wassail and numerous other functions all held in the Club's own facilities. As a yacht club we are actively involved in the community and host events to which all of Kelowna is invited.
Casual, fine dining and catering are available under the care of a friendly and professional staff. For more details on our services, please browse this web site or contact our Club Manager Randy Prost for further information regarding our Club’s facilities, membership opportunities, or other subjects related to our many social and sailing programs.
